errata slips

Picture
_Errata slips are inserted into magazines and books to correct errors or typographical mistakes, but David has used the format in a different way – to tell stories and disseminate lies. David used the standard errata slip format to explore ideas around truth and authenticity by adding false information to real magazines in Cornerhouse Bookshop in Manchester. Each of the slips relates to a page of content in different periodicals (including Source, Frieze, Ikon, Sight & Sound, Art Review and Wire), adding a fictional dimension to the publication, disrupting the reader’s engagement with the text and throwing into doubt the veracity of what they are reading. David has adapted the fake errata slips into short short stories.

The project is part of Cornerhouse Micro Commissions.
