aromabingo
Published by Salt in 2007, Aromabingo is David’s second flash fiction anthology, and the much anticipated sequel to the highly acclaimed Sawn-off Tales. Aromabingo offers David’s trademark weird, edgy, ultra-short stories, but also several longer ones so you can spend more time inside his baffling, hilarious and sometimes moving world.
Aromabingo was longlisted for the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award in 2008 and the story The Last Northerner won David the Manchester Monologue 2007 competition run by Urbis.
You can read an excerpt of the book on the Salt Publishing website.
“Aromabingo is a triumph of the blurring of literary boundaries… honouring British writing with the awkward, self-conscious, yet jagged aplomb it so deservedly needs”
The Short Review
“Offbeat, unsettling and yet frequently hilarious, Aromabingo is a solid step on from the accomplished Sawn-off Tales and proof that David Gaffney is one of those names to watch”
