sawn-off tales
Sawn-off Tales is David’s first collection of micro fiction, published to rave reviews in 2006 by Salt. Running to no more than 150 words long, each of these surreal ultra-short stories is filled with poignancy and wit, and reveals the point where the odd meets the ordinary. Caution: they may be short, but they’re not necessarily sweet.

“Witty, clever and poignant, Gaffney’s micro fictions work as funny routines, moving insights and illuminating character sketches”
Time Out
“Utterly brilliant. Hilariously demented and wonderfully succinct. David Gaffney’s Sawn-Off Tales are little McNuggets of pure gold”
